The Mayor of Richmond Hill, David West will be hosting the City of Richmond Hill 150th Anniversary Photo Exhibition on November 15th (Wednesday) from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Richmond Hill Performing Arts Centre (Downtown Richmond Hill at Yonge/ Dunlop). Prints from the entries that celebrate the theme “I Love Richmond Hill” will be on display.
Our Club has been an active partner for this Contest, and we have been given an opportunity to promote our club (and hopefully attract new members) by having an exhibition table (similar to what we had at the Mayor’s Maple Syrup Festival in April). We are planning to exhibit some prints on our foldable dividers and to have a laptop on which to display our winning images.
The Club has been asked as well to provide one of the two speakers at the event and Ron Mantay has agreed to provide a short talk on the topic of Photo Essays as part of the education program for the evening.
Thanks must go to Philip Wong as our City Liaison for his hard work in nurturing the relationship with the City of Richmond Hill which has resulting in the City supporting the Club with a grant this past month. I also would like to thank Luba Citrin and Jim Spurgeon who acted as two of the three judges for this contest.
The event is open to all so hopefully many members of the Club will come out to enjoy the event and drop by our display. Maybe chat up some of the attendees and extol the benefits of the club?
