Online – Speaker – Scott Aspinall – Experience-Driven Landscape Photography

Scott Aspinall

In this talk, we will discuss why it’s important to experience the landscape, and how light, and environmental conditions at the time of the shoot influence the final image. By focusing on experience-driven techniques, this talk aims to inspire photographers to go beyond technical mastery and instead embrace the power of personal experience to create evocative, authentic, and deeply resonant landscape photography. Discover why it’s more important than ever to experience the natural world in an era dominated by technological advancement.

  • Regular Program (starting at 7:30)
    • Print Competition Presentation
    • Special Presentation by Mervyn Sequeira – Canada Goose vs. Bald Eagle

Mervyn Sequeira
I grew up in a family of keen amateur naturalists and photographers. My grandfather, in his darkroom, taught us how to develop black and white film and make prints. My father used a Leica. As a boy, the first camera I got my hands on was a Kodak Brownie box camera! Much later, Asahi Pentax became my first SLR.

Today, my equipment is quite simple. A Canon R5 with a 100-500 RF lens.

Twenty-seven years of my professional life was spent flying the big jets, Airbuses and Boeings. As an airline captain, my job has taken me across four continents and into forty-five countries.

Now retired, I spend most of my free time outdoors strapped to a camera!
