Jim Camelford’s Lightroom Exposed

At RHCC’s first workshop of the 2017-2018 Season, move your Lightroom™ skills ahead with Jim Camelford’s Lightroom Exposed session.

Below is a shooting list of some images you’ll have fun taking. Bring them along to the Workshop on your camera chip, a memory stick or on your laptop.

We will cover LR Import in detail, file organization and workflow.  This addresses some of the most misunderstood aspects of LR’s workflow and we’ll work hard to eliminate your confusion.  You’ll come away with an ability to solve the most common forms of LR problems with missing files, file organization and messed up catalogs.  We’ll get you setup on the right track for the future.

Following the morning’s presentation and after the lunch break, Jim  and the Workshop team will work with you to load your images into LR and get you started.

To get the most out of this session, it’s best if you have the most up to date version of LR installed.  We will be using LR CC version 2015.12 (or more recent) – or the equivalent LR 6.12 release.  This version has significantly addressed some of the bugs and performance issues introduced in the fall of 2015.  If you are experiencing performance problems and system slowdowns or getting LR to run at all or major problems with your system, those concerns will be beyond our scope for this session and you’re encouraged to address those with Adobe directly.

Please bring your camera, memory chip, laptop a powerbar and an extension cord with multiple outlets so we can daisy chain the power cords.

This session is designed for those who are starting with LR. You may be confused about how LR organizes its files or what to do if you think you have loaded files into LR but can’t sort out where they are.  While we will try to explore some fun concepts in Develop, the purpose of this session is to clear confusion about Lightroom and get you off on the right foot.  We want to give you the skills and knowledge to avoid file trouble and teach you get out of trouble yourself.

It is not a workshop heavily focused on using Develop or Lightroom’s other modules.
