meeting – Speaker – Beat Glanzmann (Yukon Nature & Wildlife)

Capturing extraordinary light, landscapes and wildlife in the Yukon wilderness

At the age of 20, after living with bears on a deserted Alaskan island for several weeks, Beat found his passion in nature photography. He turned professional after publishing to various markets in collaboration with a leading photo stock agency. Beat also shared his adventures during public multi vision media shows in Europe and organized bear photography tours to support his dreams. In 1996, at the age of 26, he emigrated to the Yukon. He hand-built his own log home and the resort just outside Kluane National Park from where he guides photo tours throughout the Yukon and Alaska. He also hosts photographic workshops. His images continue to be sold worldwide to renowned magazines.

Beat continues to push photography boundaries to the limits – low light night (northern lights, star trails), high speed wildlife actions (eagles, bears and others) as well as landscapes (frozen lakes, mountains, fall colours), all often at unique locations during unusual light conditions.
A link to some of Beat´s images for viewing can be seen here.

In his presentation, Beat will take you on a wilderness journey with his camera, revealing incredible images, stories and creative ideas for making exciting photographs in the back country.
