The Spring/summer 2012 issue of the Canadian Magazine, Photo Ed, featured more than 30 camera clubs from across Canada.
It is an outstanding publication with a beautiful layout and stunning selection of images; very impressive!
Richard Bell, the executive director of the Niagara School of Imaging reviewed all of the submissions, grading each image on a merit scale of 1 to 10. The two clubs that scored the highest were the Lions Gate Camera Club and our Richmond Hill Camera Club. Rick states: “The variety in image selection from the Richmond Hill Camera Club was refreshing. They were tack sharp with excellent colour harmony. Some images were very simplistic in their composition and others very complex. The texture in some images was very apparent: so much so, that you wanted to reach out and touch the images.”
Not all of our submitted images were published; each club had between two and five of their photos included in the publication. We had five images published; three on our club page were by Glenn Springer, Kathy Constantinou and Irina Popova. One by Roy Kwee was featured on the GTCCC page and one by Denis Richard on the Niagara School of Imaging Awards page. We are very proud of this recognition.
